BOBO'S NEW ZEALAND VACATION PAGE 2
Updated: March 26, 1997

Knowing New Zealand is famous for it's glow-worm filled caves, Bobo
thought he had struck gold when he found this hole in the ground just south
of Rotorua, but something made our little friend hold back for a few minutes.
Lucky thing too, because this cave was actually the Lady Knox Geyser, which
erupts every morning at 10:15 with steaming hot water.

A little shaken from his near-death experience, Bobo decided to rest
up in the picturesque waters of Lake Taupo, New Zealand's largest fresh
water lake. Here you see Bobo's new friend, Captain Bill of the good sailing
ship "Barbary". Perhaps Bobo will one day become a "sea-dog" himself.

All rested up, it was time to flirt with danger once again. Bobo decided
to trek up the side of Mount Ruapehu to a temporarily shut down ski-field.
So why the danger? Well, Mount Ruapehu is a volcano that's been erupting
(and was still erupting at the time of the photo) since September of 1996.
No one ever said that he was a smart dog.

Does the adventure ever stop? What was supposed to be a
relaxing stop in an out of the way lodge in River Valley turned out to
be an excitable puppy's dream. After swallowing his pride and asking for
some help with the trolley across the river, Bobo hiked up a very challenging
trail stopping to lap up something wet at a nice fresh waterfall.

Finally a chance to relax and enjoy a view or two. On the way to New
Zealand's capital city of Wellington, Bobo stopped for a picture along
the coast at Paraparaumu.
